"This positive thinking stuff doesn't work!"
You're right. Just thinking positive and focusing
on what you want doesn't make it happen, and
anyone who teaches you that it does is cheating
you out of your money. There's more to it than that.
The study program that has the most complete
information on practical spirituality, personal
success and peace of mind is "The Science
of Getting Rich." You can have it for less than
half price. I have just a few copies of the original
program left. With a 175 page workbook and 6 CDs
it has everything you need to create the life of your
dreams, if you study and apply it. I know you're
ready.
What Didn't Happen
"I have been through some terrible things in my life,
most of which never actually happened."
- - Mark Twain
Isn't it amazing how our mind can create a disaster
movie about almost any circumstance in our life? We'll
never find true love, we're gonna be bankrupt, I'm
losing my job, we'll be living out of a shopping cart, the
pain in my side is probably cancer, etc, etc. It can be
an endless parade of fear, if we let it.
Well, here's an idea to put these disaster fears to good
use! I got this idea from my friend, Rev Rick Stidham,
in a message he delivered last Sunday. He was talking
about gratitude, so you know I was paying attention!
If you've ever followed my advice and done a daily
gratitude list, you know that after a while you sometimes
find yourself writing down the same things over and over.
The list loses its emotional power and it's hard to really
feel grateful.
Rick's suggestion is really simple - be grateful for the
things that haven't happened! You're not living out of a
shopping cart, the car doesn't need a new engine, your
daughter hasn't run off with a drugged-out punk rocker,
you're not facing bankruptcy, you still have your job, and
the worst part of your medical checkup was the prostate
exam, not cancer. I'm sure you can make up your own
list.
Put these thing down on your gratitude list. I find it really
easy to feel deeply grateful that these things haven't
happened! Then you can take that feeling of gratitude
with you as you write down the good things and feel
grateful for them.
As I've written before, just writing things down has little
power. The transformation comes from the feelings, not
from the words. To experience the astonishing power of
gratitude, FEEL grateful! Rick's technique will help you
do it.
So what things do you fear? What gets you in a cold
sweat? Aren't you grateful it hasn't happened? I know
that I am.
In gratitude,
Wes
