Gratitude Audio
Welcome to all the new subscribers! We get over
100 new subscriptions each month and I'm very
grateful for all of you that encourage others to sign
up and read the ebook.
I want to remind all of you that we have the Gratitude
ebook in audio book form and many people have said
that they love listening to it while driving or working.
It comes on a CD with a complimentary printed copy
of the ebook in convenient booklet form. If you or
someone you know would rather listen than read, it
makes a great gift! You can get it here:
"I Love the Aussies!"
"Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once."
- - Australian saying
Back in my corporate marketing days I had the
pleasure of several trips to Australia. I loved doing
business there because the Aussies are no b.s.
straight shooters, and that makes business fun.
I also loved socializing with them, but I found I had
better be rested up if I was going out!
My favorite thing about the people I met, though,
was their wonderful, outrageous sense of humor.
I never had so much fun anywhere else in the world
or made friends so quickly. Whenever I read about
some outrageous prank, I suspect that there's an
Australian involved.
So I wasn't surprised today when I read an article in
the paper telling how Australians are using more
unusual and nontraditional music at funerals. No
boring conventional hymns, they're using Led Zep's
"Stairway to Heaven" or AC/DC's "Highway to Hell,"
depending on the deceased's record, I guess.
But the two song choices that had me doubled up
laughing were "Hit The Road, Jack" and from the
Wizard of Oz, "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead."
Can you imagine playing that at a funeral? Only in
Australia, and I bet the dear deceased was laughing
along with everyone else.
Since my wife is a minister, I printed the article out
so she can have it in her "memorial ideas" folder.
We'll see how far she can stretch her sense of humor!
What does all this have to do with gratitude? Well, I'm
so grateful for all my Australian friends, past and
present. I'm especially grateful for laughter and I see
a sense of humor as a very special gift from God. The
ability to laugh at ourselves and with others is a
delightful part of life - like spice in food. Life would be
very bland without laughter. And nothing puts your
problems in perspective like a good laugh.
Let me leave you laughing with one more good
Australian saying:
"Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile
in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them,
you're a mile away and have their shoes."
Keep laughing,
Wes

Spiritual Solutions to Life Problems
I love "Success: A Spiritual Matter". It's 220 pages
of interviews with successful people who have
learned and applied many of the same lessons
that I have. I know there's good stuff in there
for you. Joe Vitale's got more of his story in here, too.
